MapQuest had almost fallen below Google Maps before it began rising up and currently stands 11% ahead of its rival. However MapQuest takes a plunge when someone performs a search, one has to be specific when it comes to placing a query associated to MapQuest where as Google takes a bite off given the bulk of its traffic coming from Google Search. Plus it provides more expanded and very specific results for each search performed generally.
