With its Search and Video business rocketing way past other competitors in terms of usage and success, it appears that Google Maps with new feature roll outs has steered way past every major competition in the business. According to reports the Map from Google now stand up as best service in terms of features and usage.

According to Cowen and Company Google Maps offer its users a far more friendly and detailed features are the reason why the traffic keeps heading on to the service:

The report also highlights a fact that other services; MapQuest and Yahoo Maps have seen a pause in their usage with no roll outs in features etc. Microsoft Live Search maps, despite rolling out a few new features remain in the shadowed spot being the least popular of all, trails by a huge margin.

According to market share standings, Google Maps remain number two, behind MapQuest. But there is a positive side to it for Google Maps, while MapQuest’s market share declines, Google Maps have seen a steady rise. That again is due to the fact that Google Maps keeps coming out with innovative ideas and much better mapping and with Street View spreading across the globe despite controversies, one should be prepared that yet another Google Property would dominate another popular category.
