Google Maps have updated their layout and the new interface has now been more simplified. You can still access all the stuff but this time its a bit easier. You can search a place with just a single search box. Prior to this release, Google Maps released their new feature ‘Walking Directions’.
The orange tabs which used to appear earlier, have now been removed, and more blue colour has been added in the interface.
Furthermore the size of the map is a little bigger now which means that you can now easily get full screen maps. Google Earth and Maps Team’s software engineer, Neal Kanodia, posted the update on the Google Lat Long blog.

Google as usual some thing new from its lab even i have seen their is new favicon for its analytics, does any noticed this ??

This is not something from their lab, its just the layout
As far as favicon is concerned, Google seems to play with it every now and then.
