Its been hardly 7 months when search engine giant Google launched their new favicon. It took almost eight and a half years to change their older favicon. Now things have started moving fast as the new favicon has popped up. The new favicon contains the same Google color scheme which consists of red, green, blue and yellow.
According to Google’s vice president of search products and user experience Marissa Mayer and web design lead Micheal Lopez, the new design is inspired by a Brazilian undergraduate student. It seems that we will be seeing updated Google favicons more frequently.

I see the new favicon in Opera and Netscape Navigator, but not in Firefox 3 nor in Flock 2. What gives?

Its appearing on Opera and Firefox 3, not sure about Flock 2. The new favicon is not yet appearing in all regions, maybe it will take a while to appear everywhere.

I must say the new version of google favicon is an Indianized favicon because of use of dark colors or green and red
