Google search engine shares rose to 61.6% in the U.S. search marketplace. comScore, a global leader in measuring the digital world, have released their U.S. search rankings for the month of April. Google shares have increased 1.8% from last month’s stats. Its market share is now twice as much as that of Microsoft and Yahoo combined.
Google and Facebook are the only companies in the top 10 list that have managed to increase their market share, where as giants like Yahoo and Microsoft have lost 0.9% and 0.3% respectively from the market that they comanded previously.
Ask Network and Amazon Sites saw a huge decrease in their market share. Ask Network lost 9% where as the later lost 8% of their U.S. userbase. Google CEO used to frequently say that Search is not a zero sum game. It looks from the current comScore numbers that it is turning out to be otherwise.
