Almost a month after the announcement of Google Friend Connect, Google has allowed its widget to be added on Go2Web20. It is an admin page which gives you the ability to customise different social gadgets on your site/blog. It is like zup or MyBlogLog but I hope that it would be much better than those.
The widget allows you to add your google contacts or friends from different social networks like MySpace, Hi5, Orkut, Plaxo and Facebook. You can also invite your contacts on any site that contains Friend Connect widget.
It is still shaping up as it is in its beta stage. They have managed to enable the feature of publishing newsfeeds on Orkut but the feature is yet to be added on other networks. I think it is one of the features that helps you in making your application popular. A messaging widget can also be seen which lets you see messages left by friends or others.
One interesting thing is the unavailability of Facebook on the application. Google has allowed Facebook to the application by adding it in the list but the later has disabled the feature so they are shouting loud to let users know about the actual situation. Although it is the initial version, we hope to see it getting better.
And why have the facebook disabled the feature?..
