You may be one of many people who can’t travel around the world exploring new places due to lack of time or resources. Google Earth has been very helpful in this regard as it allows you to move anywhere, any time. Although the service is good but the chance of improvement or enhancement is always there. Using mouse and keyboard while navigating through the application seems a little old fashioned as the world is moving towards the better enhanced technology i.e. ‘Multi-Touch’.
Have a look at the video below which shows navigation of Google Earth through ‘Multi-Touch’. Its a big projected screen and the tools required for the navigation are just your fingers. You can zoom in/out easily, move round, upwards, downwards, in fact go anywhere you like. The title of the video says the word ‘Holographic’ but it is not 3D for sure.

The video is from LM3Labs, which is a Tokyo based company having its office in France as well. The company has been involved in various exhibit efforts from companies such as Panasonic, Philips, Vodafone, Microsoft and various others. Currently they have trained partners in over 35 countries.
Most of the products of LM3Labs are projected instead of being on the touch screen and this one is no different. It would be much better to see the product on the actual screen. The demo is not flawless but it certainly is cool because it is just a glimpse of what has to come in the near future. Lets hope the end product is way better what we have just seen in the demo.

doesn’t look particularly exciting in terms of multi-touch, what am i missing?
It is just a glimpse of what will be coming up in the near future and I’m sure the final release will be much better than this demo.
