Google Earth enables ‘GPS tracks’

Shoaib Hashmi

Google Earth_LogoGoogle Earth has recently added a layer in Google Earth’s Gallery. GPS tracks have been enabled and due to it various other information are also available now. Hundreds and thousands of tracks have been aggregated by Wikiloc, which is a Spanish company. The GPS tracks are usually provided by the community of Wikiloc.

Other than allowing GPS tracks to be displayed in Google Earth, the layer also lets you provide some other information such as  the distance covered, the elevation maxima, your own description of the trip along with the snaps taken by the user. This will help others understand the place better and also you can tell your friends about the trip in a better manner.

Following are some of the snaps displaying various information about different places.
