Google Docs & Spreadsheets Adds Graphs, Inches Even Further On Office Trough

A couple of days back as I was talking with a friend of mine about the differences between Google Office and MS Office, the key arguments that he had against Google office were, Privacy and Features. He had the opinion that corporations will not trust Google with their data and that Google Office does not really has the feature set of MS Office.

Well as for his second argument Google has unceremoniously added Graphs to Google Spreadsheets, which now enables users to generate Bar, Line, Pie and other Graphs from the Spreadsheets data. All you need to do to use this feature is to select a column or row and hit the newly added red button on the menu bar.

I know that many would argue and analyze this feature on performance, limited data set that could be plotted and other such criteria. But nothing will change the fact that slowly but surely Google Office is catching up. Thanks to the world of Web based solutions, where you could build a feature and hundreds of thousands of users could use it the very moment, eliminating the need to burn millions of CD’s and spending loads of cash to ensure everyone using the software has the latest version.
