Search Giant, Google has always strived hard to compete with MS Office through its Google Docs. Nevertheless, Google Docs keeps on adding more features to make itself an exemplary online word processor. The three applications i-e Document, Spreadsheet and Presentation, included in Google Docs offers bundle of features that can make your work easier. But the Search Giant, so far, has failed to properly integrate all these features.
Google Docs do not stream same set of features in all three applications. An eminent feature is always available in only one app and is missing in the other. GDocs is trying to filled the gap as it has recently added an old-fashioned menu in its Presentation app. The menu was already available in the word processor.
The Slide menu has added versatility to the presentation app as users can zoom in/out manually or with the keyboard shortcuts (Ctrl+Shift+left/right arrow). Apart from this, the interface is more organized that leads to more spacious room for slides editing.
So far, Google Docs has added a lot of features to boost its productivity and efficiency. Some of them are Instant form creation, automated response summaries for forms, photo albums embedding, automated file upload, integration of Google Analytics, PDF support and the list goes on. But the interfaces of different apps within the Google Docs differs greatly that reflects a non-professional impact. Google Docs should make its interface standard, by integrating common features and services.
I think Google docs is fantastic. It comes in handy all the time for me. It’s also great for sharing documents with others and has pretty eliminated my need for a flash drive. Very cool.
