Google Docs includes Footnotes

Saad Ali Abbasi

GoogleDocs_logo Google Docs added a footnotes feature to its service, which allows users to add extra material to their document, when printing would appear at the bottom of the page. These footnotes can be useful for students working on academic papers or books. A marker appears as a pound sign (#) in the document, indicating that there’s a footnote present.

While working these footnotes appear in the document margin, though would be better off being shown at the bottom of the page. To insert a footnote to your document, all you have to do is go to the ‘Insert’ menu and select Footnote. A textbox will then appear in the document margin, allowing you to type in your footnote. To edit, simply click it and update the text.

You can also drag and drop a footnote anywhere you like, in the document. Just simply click on the pound sign and drag. Furthermore, there are options where you can delete, collapse and hide your footnotes.
