Google Desktop Blog has announced the availability of a Google Summer Games Gadget for Google Desktop. This means you will be able to follow the 302 events, 35 disciplines and over two hundred teams right from the comfort of your desktop.
This gadget will show you medal counts, event schedules and the latest news without having to open a browser window. The gadget is also available in Chinese language and for Google Gadgets for Linux. You can check out the gadget here. There is also a web based version of this gadget available here.
Only if Microsoft would learn something for Google, and make the Vista Sidebar useful instead of a system hog.
