Google Books has undergone a major update today as it released new features. These features will help improve the link between readers and online books. The features include:

Improved Search within books: This would enable users perform searches within the book. Whenever a reader performs a search, users see an image of the part of the page where the word is present, upon clicking, the user is taken directly to the page.

Book Embeds and links: The feature would enable users to paste link in blogs or emails to share the book or embed it.

Thumbnail View: It would let users to view thumbnails of the pages of magazines or books.

Content Drop Down menu: The feature lets you directly jump to pages/chapters in a book.

Plain Text Mode: You can easily find/view the plain text versions of the books. Simply click the plain text button on the toolbar to see the HTML version of the book.

Page Turn Button and Animation: Simply turn through pages and keep track of what line you are reading with the animated line.

Overview Page Overhaul: This lets users get a summary of the book which includes ratings, reviews, etc.

Google Books had last year settled a lawsuit with Author’s Guild and it continues to grow with more than 7 million titles scanned by it so far.
