Google has got a tentative approval on a settlement in a lawsuit between Google and the Book Authors and Publishers. The approval was granted by Federal Judge John Sprizzo in Manhattan on Friday and has set a hearing date for a final settlement in June to decide if the deal is fair, reasonable and adequate. Under the terms of the settlement, Google will have to pay $125 million to settle copyright lawsuits contesting its book scanning plans and would also have to give 63% of all future revenues to publishers and authors.
