Google announces selling Performics Search Marketing Business

Publicis_LogoGoogle has recently announced that it’s selling its Performics search marketing business to Publicis Groupe - a Paris-based company. The deal is expected to close by this year’s third quarter.

According to the Performics website:

Performics_cutPerformics – based in Chicago, Illinois and founded in 1998 is an affiliate marketing, search engine marketing, data-feed marketing and online lead generation company. It provides both search engine marketing and affiliate marketing services, and is the 3rd largest affiliate network in the US. The latter being Commission Junction/BeFree and Linkshare.

The Publicis Groupe – one of the largest advertising holding companies having a portfolio ranging from television, magazine, cinema and radio advertising; and a number of agencies focused on Internet marketing.

Performics client list being more than 200; includes one of the top notch brands around; such as AOL, Bose, Motorola, Sony, Cingular and Verizon Wireless. These brands trust Performics to administer their marketing programs and sales.

    Ouch… first time in my life i have see a world selling from google, it was always Google buying…. whats google up to .. ??looks couldn’t find it to be more useful which lead to this deal

    Yes, but that’s a usual business trend. Google is looking beyond Search Engines now I guess
