Google and Yahoo indexed Flash Searching with Adobe

Asma Kaleem

logos-thumb Google and Yahoo indexed Flash Searching with AdobeThe trend for searching stuff on Google and Yahoo has been popular since decays. The mighty  Search Engines have captured a wide range of Internet Search market and people relies on their searching results without going for any other choice. Therefore,  flash websites were not so popular as the sites appears to be invisible for search engines.

Search Engines were not indexed to see what’s inside a SWF(flash) file. and it tends to be a great hindrance in the site’s popularity and ranking.

Google has developed a new algorithm for indexing textual content in all kinds of Flash Files. It has optimised Adobe flash player technology to index all SWF files enabling instant search for flash banners, buttons, text etc.

David Wadhwani, general manager and vice president of the Platform Business Unit at Adobe said,

“Until now it has been extremely challenging to search the millions of RIAs and dynamic content on the Web, so we are leading the charge in improving search of content that runs in Adobe Flash Player, said

Adobe is also looking forward to extent its services beyond these two Search Engines.

“We are initially working with Google and Yahoo! to significantly improve search of this rich content on the Web, and we intend to broaden the availability of this capability to benefit all content publishers, developers and end users.

Google has already started searching millions of dynamic files, as reported by senior VP of engineering at Google:

Through our recent collaboration with Adobe, we now help Web site owners that choose to design sites with Adobe Flash software by indexing this content better. Improving how we crawl dynamic content will ultimately enhance the search experience for our users.

But Yahoo! is still working on it. ( It depicts Google’s yet another advantage over Yahoo!)

Advertising world would surely find it useful as number of rich media based interactive banners and ads are running on flash. Businesses will enjoy this scoop as now they are free to make SWF websites without facing any adversity in the search rankings.

The visibility of flash enriched text will serve as a new prospective for long frustrated web developers. The collaboration of Yahoo! and Google will help to unveil the rich media flashy content and will unlock the previously invisible flash content(by search engines) for better experience.
