The Wall Street Journal has added smoke to the air with its reporting a deal between Verizon and Google. The deal is to have Google build up the search interface for Verizon mobile phone products.
Although there is no confirmation of this deal by both the concerned parties but it’s deemed to have Google turn to the core search mechanism for the devices build by Verizon and will eventually have Google pocketing some share from the revenue generated. However there is one nagging concern reported by the newspaper that points whether Google would be able to store information generated by the searches of users.
The deal had been under shadows for over a year owing to disputes over revenue sharing but it appears things have settled and it will eventually turn to reality. This deal is primarily the result of the growing influence of mobile devices taking over the traditional media to access information and many more things. I guess it’s fair enough for Google to gear up to battle the growing mobile movement.
