You all know that Gmail displays web clips right on top of the emails in your inbox. The news in these clips is fetched from news headlines, blog posts, and almost anything from the web that has an rss feeds. In addition to this Gmail also displays sponsor ads in these clips.
But now, Gmail has transferred this authority to the users to decide what they want to see in these web clips. This means that you could stuff in the RSS feeds of your favorite blogs or news sites and put it in the Web Clips tab in the settings menu, and there you go. Each time you will refresh your inbox you will see some new headlines from your favorite blog.
There are some subscriptions that are added to the list by default, so you don’t feel deserted, which you can remove easily. In addition to this Gmail also provides an initial set of feeds and URLs to add to the Web Clips. But again if you don’t like any of these and if your personal favorites are different from them, just add them instead.
