With the news of Google Chrome breaking in, a new battle of browsers seems to be emerging. The search engine giant’s new browser is an open source and is built to better up the online experience of the users.
With the launch of the new browser comes a few features that can make your online experience a better one. Also the share of Google Chrome has risen almost 3%. The browser also contain some features that can better up the Gmail experience. According to Google, following are the few features which can make the Gmail experience better.
A browser built for speed:
Google Chrome features a new JavaScript engine, V8, that has been designed for performance from the ground up, so web applications like Gmail that use the browser to its fullest run lightning fast.
More room for your stuff, less browser window:
We’ve removed all the unnecessary clutter from the browser window to give you more room for your favourite applications and websites. If you use an application shortcut (below), you can launch Gmail in its own streamlined window that gives you as much working room as possible, without the URL box or browser toolbar.
Application shortcuts:
You can create an application shortcut to access Gmail straight from your desktop. Simply go to Gmail while you’re using Google Chrome, click the page menu and select ‘create application shortcuts.’ When you double-click a shortcut icon, it opens in a streamlined window.
Crash control:
Every tab you use is run independently in Google Chrome, so if one tab crashes, it won’t take the tab with your inbox down with it.

Currently Windows Vista and Windows XP (Service Pack 2 or later) users can get their hands on Google Chrome where as Mac and Linux users have to wait for a while, as those versions are in the development phase.

I downloaded Chrome when it became available and I have to say it was a major disappointment. It was very fast to surf and very fast to load but that was all of the good points. It would not display images or flash, the tab feature that is meant to remember my most popular sites rarely works and gets it wrong every time. Maybe it should be remembering my least popular sites as it would be more accurate although it would still be wrong.
I also had problems with trying to get it to save my homepage. It refused to do it for ages but finally accepted it this morning only to have forgotten it this afternoon just before I uninstalled it from my computer. I think it is nowhere near ready for release, is nowhere near as user friendly as Firefox and it looks very very similar to IE7 which is not a good start to life.
Of greater concern is the emphasise that Google has placed on its ability to carry adverts which makes me wonder if this is just going to be Googles big advertising machine rather than a browser for the masses. Also there is a big storm brewing regarding the license that you have to agree to before you can use Chrome. Basically if you upload anything using Chrome then you are giving them full permission to use it as they wish. You are effectively giving away all of your rights if you are going to let Google use any of your own material. I understand that many companies are banning the use of Chrome and I fully agree and have removed it from my computer. Unless you are only going to browse the web then you really should not even consider putting this on your computer.

Agreed, never heard that any company is banning the use of Chrome.
And people can bash Chrome all they want. But, the bashers are the ones who use it secretly and wish their favorite browser was like that. If a browser has extensions and stuff, they call it bloated. If it’s simple and efficient, they are still unhappy. They are just finding reasons to blast it, for the sake of blasting. Nonsense.
Learn to appreciate good stuff John G. The only reason someone would want to avoid Chrome is ignorance.

Google chrome is definitely faster than IE and I like the overall look. As the guys above mentioned, the Fonts does not look clear at all.
Also, I do not agree that Chrome is more stable than IE. Chrome also keep crashing just like IE.
