Google’s Desktop gadgets team has finally released the Gmail gadget for the desktop. Now you can access your Gmail account from the desktop. Basic functions are included in the initial version through which you can read, search, send and star a message. Also you can use the keyboard shortcuts. The contact auto-complete function is also present. To use the application you need Google Desktop 5 or later. The gadget is available for download.
