Gigya has raised $11 million in series C round of funding that was led by DAG Ventures. Despite the current economic crisis, the current raise is set to keep up the rising demand and to push forward two new widgets: The Wildfire (a widget to assist widget makers with distribution) and Socialize; a tool that brings social features to any website.
Wildfire is the only service that Gigya uses for monetizing; done via the use and marketing of branded widgets offered to consumers upon addition of these to their pages, blogs, etc. With new products set inline and to collaborate with services, Gigya can definitely use the flowing cash to boost its services.
