You must have faced a lot of difficulty while taking a screen shot the conventional way i.e. ‘Print screen’ and then edit it with some editing tool. ScrnShots has found the solution for the problem. It is a community that hosts screen shots. The service is similar to Skitch. The site supports comments and also track popular shots just like Sketch. The thing which differentiates it from the other service is its availability on cross platforms. It can also be used as an image host if another screen shot utility (like Grab) is in already in use.
The private beta version came out in April and since then it is open for everyone. If you like a certain page, you can share it to your blog or website/social network by using the embed option. Embeds though are available in certain sizes only i.e. either full size or small thumbnail.
For most frequent users, the integrated desktop application of ScrnShots provides you an opportunity to upload without even going to the site. URLs and associated tags can also be added. For regular users, this simple site may be good but for professionals or more specifically bloggers, this isn’t their cup to tea.

To avail the services you have to register which is an easy process but for now it isn’t working and showing the following error message:
Ohhhhhh noooo! Something went wrong with our servers.
We have been notified and will check this out soon.
They should add annotation and other editing options like Skitch do. Shots that are embedded elsewhere, doesn’t have an option of setting up caption and credits. If they make these changes, they are certainly going to give a tough time to other similar and popular services like Snaglt.
