Fwix Your Friends

Saad Ali Abbasi

Fwix I Local logoThe US-based Fwix is an online social community with features allowing users to share popular activities, photos & videos, events, news, gossip/chatter and other activities that we usually entail with. Also, with top stories on the homepage: ranging from job listings, travel deals, ticket sales, and allow feed through a number of ad-ons such as Flickr, Yelp, and Twitter. These ad-ons allow for adding photos, videos, stories, and all types of social and media content, or whatever you like, from the Internet.

Features present on Fwix such as ‘Comment’ and ‘I like it’ lets people in on whether you like their posts or not. This brings about the natural trend going about, at other social communities like Facebook.

This for me isn’t so bad, because it doesn’t seem out of the blue, and I can look back at other sites and relate. Small options like these are easier to go through when you’ve used similar ones before on other services. Makes it quicker no? Although this should be constant throughout, unlike Facebook’s New outlook, which keeps giving “the New Facebook is disabled” notice every other day I log in, and so, I end up using the same old version.

Anyway, returning to Fwix - it shows you the most relevant and trendy information and media in your local area. Mostly stuff that you’re looking for. It aggregates about 500,000 news stories per day, and delivers roughly 2,000 relevant news stories of those 500,000.

It has a smooth and sleek GUI, which allows easy accessibility and usage even for the novice user. So join-in and give it a try, it should be fun sharing information around with your neighborhood friends.

A wide list of ad-ons that can be used with this service are listed below:
