FriendFeed, in its latest update, has released the Real-time API. If you are using the FriendFeed API, with the help of the new Real-time API, you can now update your contacts in a real-time. It means that you are now eligible to post streaming content (Twitter like) on any site.
The new API also supports the polling for updates along with long-polling. The later is the one which responds only when the updates are available. This is specifically suitable for applications related to desktop notifications.
FriendFeed allows you to update on online pages, photos, videos and a lot more. Recently they added the real-time updates followed by the platform support on Facebook. This shows that the FriendFeed team is working really hard. What would be interesting is to see how much more they can do to give some real tough time to their competitors.
