FriendFeed has added a new feature which allows users to filter their content. Now they don’t have to sit all day long and look for the best content. The application filters the best stuff shared by your friends preventing you from going through entire feed.
It lies just below the search box on your FriendFeed homepage and gives you the option to see the best stuff from previous day, week or month (depending on who you are subscribed to).
According to FriendFeed’s official blog:
The results are entirely personalized to you. We figure out what content was most interesting in your network based on your friends’ comments and "likes" and other signals.
If you only have a couple of minutes to check FriendFeed, and you only want to see the most interesting entries, check out the best of the past day instead of your main feed.
As the feature is in its initial stages, user feedback is welcome.
With the current feature, one might start thinking about Twitter. FriendFeed is constantly improving its services where as twitter is down for several days. Is this going to make any difference? I think it all depends on how soon Twitter resolves its issues. The best thing about FriendFeed is their strong teamwork. They work on new features as well as maintain current ones and if they come up with any issues, they resolve it with ease. Anyway it has done a good job, lets see how much more they capitalise this time with Twitter absent from the scene.
