Praized

Praized is a new distributed search tool that enables publishers to provide their consumers with a simple way to recommend local places to each other. Praized boast at being the first local search platform designed too target social media services like blogs, networks and everywhere there is a large enough community. Praized lets the publishers add local search and community reviews to their site.

The idea is to help everyone; from users, be they merchants or mere discoverers with the help of their community and the publishers who use Praized; as it helps them generate page-views, visitors and increased ad-revenue through the free Praized platform.

Praized is a community centered platform that comes loaded with more than 17 million local businesses in US and Canada along with all the relevant information one needs; from contact to location on maps. And that’s not it; there are also social features that let you mingle with the countless locals, you have user-generated tags and commenting at your disposal so you get only what is worth spending time on.

So is Praized a community within itself? If so how come it has generated such loads of data? Kristen Nicole thinks this to be thee result of a working relationship with the Yellow Pages and Localeze that have given a huge chunk of the business database to head off to a start. Praized praises this by capitalizing on this and expanding their own

And what is complete without ads? Praized also serves as a rich ad portal for advertisement that generates leads with contextual ads within the content created by the user. To add more spice the revenue generated by the publisher is for theirs to keep but the ads have to be outside the platform placed in the header and sidebars.

The entire theme behind Praized is user driven; from rankings based on the collective high thumbs up from users with no influence on ranking due to pad ads and sponsors available. Ass Harry Wakefield, CEO Praized commented at Praized blog:

Praized was founded on the principle of ‘trusting your tribes’ and provides the tools for social media publishers to capture word of mouth occurring within their communities, giving users a simple way to search, discover, and recommend local places with like-minded folks.

Praize'Raze

The first online community to make use of Praized is Moco Loco a contemporary design blog assisting the audience to take advantage of the comprehensive database available; placing all the conversations made on the blog and Praized’s searchable places allowing the deliverance of specific and relevant recommendations. Plus the launch of its Facebook, Praize’ n’ Raze application enables Facebook users to create a local search experience that most suits their friends. The idea being at comparing the likes and dislikes over the local places friends vote for. The CEO further added:

The MoCo Loco audience can truly benefit from a local search site because these folks share an interest and passionate discussions around modern design and furniture, while our Facebook application opens the door for any type of group or tribe of friends on Facebook to have a local search tool to deliver relevant, trusted recommendations.

So does this make a big difference? Well on a personal note distributed local search can come in handy, including recommendations from other services. Plus the idea of a community driven platform/content being used in a way that others can benefit will turn out to be a better experience for users and publishers alike; helping everyone take ice from the cake.
