Updating.me is a very simple yet very useful and time saving service. It’s purpose is to provide you with one place where you can update your status messages and plurks/tweets. You can’t view any replies to your tweets or plurks or such, as the service is all about updating. Following is the list of services supported at the moment.

The interface is simple. Just type in your update, select your service ( you can post the same update to all the services you have ) and off you go. The maximum length for your update is 140 characters and the URLs greater than 23 characters are automatically converted to shorter URLs. I don’t know if we come across such long URLs much, so it’ll be great if they provide that option for URLs of any length. It’s easy to add and remove services. There is even an option to update yourself with an image, although not Twitter, Facebook and many others don’t show images in their status messages.

Updating.me can be useful if you’re hooked up to micro blogging. It’ll be used by a certain crowd that can’t live without updating people on what they ate and what they drank. We have 50 invites for updating.me as it’s in a private beta at the moment. Comment on this blog post to get invites.
