FOWA Conference attracts Startups & Developers

FOWA_logo A conference by name of Future of Web Apps (FOWA) started in East of London, attracting 2,000 startups and developers. The conference’s aim was to create a platform for startups and developers alike, having discussions from leading services’ speakers, and thereby exchanging useful ideas.

This has started to become a norm as more and more gatherings like these are taking place each year, which is good for bloggers as well.

A range of speakers discussed ideas and shared their point of views about their sites’ services and general views, among them were Kevin Rose from Digg, Stephan from Soocial, Ben Huh from ICanHasCheezburger, and Kevin Marks from Google Code.

FOWA was being run on a Google app engine as well, but the link failed at some point, due to a usage limit:

“This Google App Engine application is temporarily over its serving quota. Please try again later.”

The event is also seeing big companies launch competitions. One such was by MySpace, which launched a developer competition.
