Footbo is a social network for footballs fans, or as they called in the U.S. soccer fans. Footbo is intuitive enough and easy to sift through. It’s interface is quite  simple and has all of the fun, logical features a fan would want. It allows you to prominently advertise the logos and photos of your favorite teams and players and do a lot of things within the ground.

As the user joins the Footbo community, they gain a modified football experience by selecting their favorite teams and players. A personalized home page is then created for him. After that, user can take part in the community, blog, share photos and videos, create and join fan clubs and groups, plan events etcetera.

Footbo provides football-related content in the form of live feeds, line-ups, game schedules and tables from about 70 leagues around the world. Prediction allows football lovers to predict the final scores of the game. User can edit/submit until the end of each match. You can also grade players and create a ‘Top 11,’ basically a make-believe starting lineup comprised of your favorite players. Also, you can add and edit content about teams and players. There are already plenty of existing profiles with basic info on teams and players. The Euro 2008 section leverages these features on a single page for a one-stop experience.

Footbo has the world, not just Europe, more than adequately covered with club and national teams, players, and league information from the Americas, Africa, and Asia as well. It will launch its official Beta version in August with several new features. It’s still against some competitions from ESPN’s Soccernet and Joga.com (a seemingly defunct soccer social network by Google’s Orkut and Nike).

In essence, Footbo offers everything that other social networks do, but is catered specifically to football fans. Given the size of this market and the passion of fans for the game, the company believes this should prove to be a very viable model.
