The Google Mobile Blog has posted an update on the availability of a new mobile search tool that provides sports results, country medal count, and event schedules right at the top of your search results.
For example, if you search swimming by going to www.google.com on your mobile phone, it’ll show you results like this:
You’ll also be able to do more detailed searches like “gymnastic medals” to get updated medal counts and rankings in your search results. You can also browse through all the events by visiting www.google.com/m/summergames on your mobile phone. Here you’ll find details of all the sports that are a part of the Olympics. This tool is also available in 36 languages and over 60 countries.
Another little tidbit is that Google have announced their first ever worldwide mobile doodle in celebration of the Olympics, which can be seen by going to the Google homepage on your mobile.
