U.S. Airways Flight 1549 went down in Hudson River off Manhattan, after its collision with a bird, and this was picked up by a flight-tracking site FlightAware. The map above is a capture from the site and shows exactly how the plane went down. The good thing is that no one was seriously hurt as the captain took the plane belly down in the river – everyone got out safe.
The information on FlightAware’s service is quite accurate except the fact that the flight didn’t ‘arrive’ on time, and instead it should’ve been mentioned as crash or crash landing. Check out the map here.
