Flickr co-founders call it a day; add more to Yahoo’s quit line

Sardar Mohkim Khan

CaterinaStewart With an air of quitting, switching over jobs in abundance over the web, we get to learn that co-founders of Flickr, Caterina Fake and Stewart Butterfield (both husband and wife) have decided to leave the driving seat of the site that has been a great success since it was acquired by Yahoo three years back.

The pair adds weight to Yahoo’s small but very important band of job quitters. It has been pointed out that Fake had left last Friday and Butterfield plans to leave by 12th July.

The two had founded the photo sharing website and sold it for more than $30 million in 2005 to Yahoo and the departure rings more alarms keeping in view Yahoo’s recent slackness and their utmost desire to keep the high profile entrepreneurs stick their boots to their floor. This might not be a very big concern from the management perspective but it surely has delivered a psychological blow.

The resignation was first reported at TechCrunch and it is time that will tell who else joins the cue of job resigns and quits.
