image thumb78 Firefox 3.1 beta 1 out for testingMozilla had been busy putting together the latest version of its web browser, Firefox 3.1 and has today announced the availability of the public review release. The purpose as always is to bring it out of the labs for the public and more importantly the developers and find out errors and get feedback on how to make it better.

It includes several new features and its availability in 36 languages. The features that need to be tested and require feedback include a shortcut for tab switching and the much talked about Geolocation.

I personally think that the idea of introducing a shortcut that show preview of a particular tab you are switching to is a much needed one, specially  for those who work around with multiple tabs. It would users to click open only the tab they want.

The much talked about Geolocation feature, that had been brought to the previous version as plugin by the name of Geode is fully integrated into the browser. The function utilizes Mozilla’s W3C Geolocation Specification and can record a users geographic location using JavaScript API.

Those are just a couple of features out of the many it has in the pipe and one of them includes inclusion of a browsing window similar to Chrome’s Incognito mode. Well there can be a lot as always coming up from Mozilla and it has developed a nag of improving with Firefox with each new release.
