Food is an addiction for sure. I might not indulge in eating all the great dishes from different regions of the world but I love knowing about them, how are they prepared, what people have to say about the, etcetera. While that might have been tough a decade back the boom in the Internet space has definitely made all this a lot easier. You have sites or portals helping you with learning the best of different regions, be it their culture, language or even food and experts in different categories are leveraging this to their benefit.
One such startup is the Foodsherpa, a place to discover daily deals on artisan food, local eats, and gourmet treats. These come from cosmopolitan food capitals that include New York, Barcelona, Tokyo, and Istanbul. The startup works around by by letting people know about an interesting food item or a dish that they can order online via the site to enjoy with friends or simply learn about how it was prepared. The site features one food item daily. This is aided by finding something really cool, putting it together in a video explaining how to use the ingredient in creating a crafty meal for everyone to enjoy.
There are definitely a lot of similar startups that I am not aware of, but Foodsherpa appears to be an interesting one.
