filrbox is just like Google Alerts, but it claims to have more knowledge and less noise. We’d like to add to that line, more complex too.
What can be achieved with Google Alerts with a few clicks only requires you to do more in filtrbox, and while the former is free for all usage, filtrbox requires a paid subscription if you want to use more filters beyond the limits of the free account. With filtrbox, you can
- Gain competitive intelligence by monitoring your brand, your competition and your market

- Track more keywords and cover more sources without doing ANY more work
- Share your Filtrs and collaborate with colleagues or clients. Let them see what you see.
- Analyze marketing and PR campaigns, track buzz and look back in time
- Get your critical news for the day in just a few minutes with our Daily Briefing email updates
- Never miss the conversation – Get coverage for mainstream news, blogs, twitter and Friendfeed all in one place
Although if you’re just into reading news and stuff, you would never want to pay for free information. Even if it means that you gain more accurate results. Just like most of us here ( yes we can be cheap! ). But if you’re a Marketing and Product Management Professional, Private Equity and Venture Capital or an Executive, then this has been just tailor made for you. The system claims that it delivers you the most relevant and credible results of what you’re tracking. For free usage, I’d recommend Google Alerts, or just subscribe to a Google News search result feed in Google Reader and search what you want. But for professional usage (ie if you’re willing to shell out bucks), filtrbox is really worth it.
