According to an estimate, the social network Facebook is earning around $3 million through virtual/digital gifts. With this much success, the social network is now taking this mode of revenue generation more seriously. Earlier they used to charge $1 or nothing for the gifts but now they are including some variety which also means that there would be different prices for different gifts. According to Facebook blog:
The new system means we can introduce a wider variety of gifts, allowing you greater freedom in expressing appreciation for your friends, just like in the real world. It also makes gift pricing more accessible to people around the world, no matter what their home currency might be.
