Looks like hiring season is on at Facebook. We reported yesterday about the social network bolstering its security side with the inclusion of former FTC chairman, Tim Muris. Today the news rolled about the social network hiring Erick Tseng, former Senior Product manager at Google looking after the Android OS.
Saying that, I personally think that the hiring is open only if you are a ‘former something, somewhere’. Erick will be joining Facebook to bolster its mobile products and there is definitely a huge space for him to make improvements to Facebook’s mobile division and might actually bring out a really useful application for Facebook. Although there are quite a few of those for various handsets but none of them is really impressive enough to provide a satisfying experience.
With Erick on board and carrying with him his enthusiasm for mobile devices [his heavy involvement in the Nexus One device], there will definitely be some positive changes coming to the Facebook mobile division. Lets see how this proceeds for Facebook.
