If you can’t bring the business to your domain get your domain to the business. That is what Facebook is applying now, given it knows there is a massive population and more importantly businesses that are not using the social network for personal and for their businesses. I guess Facebook has a solution for them now with Decals.
The social network is speeding up its presence by getting local business to promote themselves the Facebook way. B.J Drums who is an employee at Museum of Making Music in Carlsbad, California had a proof to this: a decal that states Like them on Facebook. That wasn’t it, the social network also sent them a letter that promoted the idea of keeping this at a prominent place and make most of the power of the Social Network.
To be honest, the decal to me promotes Facebook more than the business with the icon branding the social network more. Of course that would bring increased connections to the business but that means it would also increase Facebook’s presence in the local businesses. Something so important for the social network and a part of its greater strategy to have the word centered around Facebook.
If you happen to own a local business and willing to work with Facebook to gain social media traction avail the opportunity of getting $25 worth of credits for ads to advertise on the social media platform. God save if this really happens, I look forward to windows of businesses plastered with logos and decals of Web Companies.
