Facebook is releasing its versions in 55 more languages

Asma Kaleem

facebooklogo-thumb22 Facebook has announced that have opened 55 new languages for translation, this week. Facebook is already supporting variety of languages and they  have successfully launched their Spanish version few months ago.

Facebook is planning to expand globally to support billions of users and the only way to marked a nail globally is to release its multilingual versions. This would leverage its users with higher flexibility and they will tend to use this service (who on the earth don’t like his/her native language). Therefore , the company is working on this basic innovative working strategy.

According to an official blog of Facebook, they are now supporting —French, German, Japanese, Chinese, and Italian. by working efficiently to internationalise their service. They have received thousands of users requests who want to participate and help them in translating the service. Therefore on receiving huge number of feedbacks, Facebook has finally opened its Translations application to all of its users. Native speakers can use this app to translate Facebook into additional languages.

Now native speakers can use our Translations application to translate Facebook into additional Asian languages (Malaysian, Vietnamese), African dialects (Zulu, Xhosa), regional varieties (British English, Canadian French) and even rarely spoken languages, such as Latin and Esperanto.

Well, is this another tactic to get free translated versions as Translations app of Facebook is “crowdsourcedâ€? that means free labour (according to the dramatic Web 2ish dictionary) or are they really trying to picked out some genuine translated versions as this app enables users to sophistically translate and vote on text found throughout  a Facebook app.

Whatever be the reason, I for one thinks that the  translated versions will surely act as a deftly tool to capture the global social market place.

The list of supported languages are:

Latin, Esperanto, Yiddish, Català, CeÅ¡tina, Dansk, Deutsch, English, Español, Français, Italiano, Nederlands,  Norsk (BokmÃ¥l),  Polski,  Português (Brasil),  Suomi, Svenska,  Ã?slenska, Afrikaans, Bahasa Indonesia, Bahasa Melayu, Basa Jawa, Cymraeg, Eesti, English (GB), Español (Chile), Español (Colombia), Español (España), Español (México), Español (Venezuela), Esperanto, Euskara, Français (Canada), Føroyskt, Gaeilge, Galego, Hrvatski, Kiswahili, LatvieÅ¡u, Leet Speak, Lietuviu, Limburgs, Magyar, Malagasy fiteny, Malti, Nederlands (België), Norsk (Nynorsk), Português (Portugal), Româna, Shqip, Slovencina, SlovenÅ¡cina, Soomaaliga, Tagalog, Tatarça, Türkçe, bosanski jezik, isiXhosa, isiZulu, lingua latina, rumantsch grischun.
