While the attempt from Facebook to go light with Facebook Lite might have done quite a bit to shed some weight on the platform’s page it has had tough time on the Mobile devices. The idea of apps for the smartphones sounds great but there is nothing better than having a better experience on mobile browsers. Presently the social network took the step ahead with its Facebook Zero, its latest attempt to invade the mobile device.

I just tried the Zero Facebook on my Nokia N97 and since it has recently been launched the carrier doesn’t support it as yet. From where I look at it, it’s pretty lighter than anything you have experienced on the mobiles. Primarily because the version is purely text based and this version wont be charged for anything. However I see quite some revenue coming in if users do request for having to view photos and videos. Carriers might just charge them some cash for having the facility.

To be honest this is quite a great method Facebook has taken to make itself accessible for free on every carrier. Just think of the venues it opens itself to, I bet not everyone has a smartphone and many still use phones that have no WiFi connectivity. Having a chance to use this would sound quite appealing for all those users. For the time being, Facebook Zero would leverage almost ever mobile device out there.
