And it keeps happening; the integration of Twitter like features into Facebook as the social network today introduced a function similar to Twitter’s ReTweet. With the new feature that is currently in test mode, Facebook will automatically acknowledge the the source of the article, relieving you of the task. The option is presently available on the stories you share and I bet it will soon be default on whatever you share on the social network.
This is quite interesting given that it would help the already viral fan pages and stories that pop up on Facebook day in and day out. What is interesting is the fact that Facebook despite its ever growing and far reaching popularity wants to have the best of everything. It knows the potential Twitter has despite all its randomness and the social network is more than willing to adopt some of its key features. Of course Facebook did try to acquire Twitter, the offer which was turned down. Twitter had its chance to sell itself but the NO has resulted in Facebook picking up the same.
The feature, as I suppose is live for almost every user and if it isn’t it wont take much longer to do so. Overall the feature will greatly help in giving credit where it is due and to the right person but whatever it may be, Facebook continues to reveal how greatly influenced it is by Twitter.
