Jeremy Zawodny, who left Yahoo last week has announced that he is joining Craigslist. Zawodny joined Yahoo in 1999, at the time Yahoo was a 2000 person ship. The company eventually grew to seven times that size. Yahoo did undergo a major layoff due to the dot com bubble and but Zawodny managed to hold on to his position back than. Yahoo is currently facing a major executive exodus and this time Zawodny is also a part of it.
Zawodny during his time at Yahoo has been involved in scaling MySQL, Launching Yahoo’s Search Blog, starting the Yahoo Developer Network, and also played a pivotal role in some acquisitions that Yahoo made during his time.
At Craigslist, Zawodny would be involved with scaling and debugging MySQL, and alot of other interesting stuff that might include expanding Craigslist via new product releases and/or acquisitions. Lets see what comes out from him during his time at Craigslist. Wish you luck Zawodny and to Yahoo too, they really need it badly now.
