Ex Exec of Time Inc. to Head Microsoft US Ad Sales

Microsoft has got hold of Robin Domeniconi, a Time Inc, exec. to head its US Ad Sales. Robin would be joining Microsoft from 1st of Jan, with the task to make Microsoft as much of a household name in online advertising as Google or Yahoo are. Currently Advertisers completely (almost) ignore Microsoft when it comes to online spending. One such example is highlighted by Silicon Alley Insider:

One anecdotal example: The Obama campaign spent $3.5 million of its $8 million 2008 online advertising budget on Google — in one month. Other than $467,000 on Facebook ads — which are sometimes served by Microsoft — the campaign only spent about $45,000 on Microsoft all year. (Yahoo got $673,000 from Obama in October alone.)
