Zvents, an event based search engine has raised an amount of $24 million in a round of funding. The round was participated by investors including Nokia Growth Partners, AT&T and NAVTEQ along with previous investors including VantagePoint Venture Partners and Red Rock Ventures.
The San Mateo, California based local search and advertising network has several online and mobile partners which features listing of events in order to promote local business. The company is focusing on mobiles and expects a large part of its future businesses on it.
Currently anyone is able to add events on the list for free, where as some other businesses such as departmental stores who adds some information such as videos, movies, coupon codes etc. have to pay a little amount of fee. In the coming days this amount may rise with the level of popularity of the company. Till now the company has raised a total amount of $32 million.
