While Google’s Eric Schmidt may have failed to become the CTO of the US President, he and Microsoft’s chief research and strategy officer, Craig Mundie have been named as President Barrack Obama’s Advisors on science and technology. The council comprises of experts in various fields of science. The president had appointed Aneesh Chopra as the chief technology officer, contrary to what people were anticipating. The more possible names included Steve Ballmer, Bill Gates and Eric Schmidt.
