Newsflashr has recently launched an interesting piece of search engine for News stories that helps to have a pertinent News search results. On entering the keywords, users can have thousands of polled search results in a split of seconds from some prominent news services such as Google News, MSNBC, Yahoo News, MSN Live, Ask Big Live, Digg ,Twitter along with a Techmeme Leaderboard.
The newly launched service has some traces of the existing Newsflasher- the news portal that was incubated back in February 2008 and works by highlighting keywords in its search result. Though it supports variety of news stories genuinely collected from hundreds of top editors and serves as an updated hub for the collective number of news and blogs but the recently inaugurated News Search engine will add a versatility to it.
The news ‘polling’ from some leading Sources will greatly enhance its functionality. The site has taken an intuitive step in redefining the social news reporting. Its flexibility will reveal the actual juice of every site and would also help sites like ‘Digg’ to attain their identity as a ‘news source’. It will also help to unveil the false image of any site that is not a true ‘News source’ but claims to be or is considered by public as genuine hub for News and stuff.
Gal Arav, the founder of Newsflashr has high aims and claims that news freaks will definitely going to enjoy it as it’s a regular updated site and provides its readers with an updated news of every passing second.
"As a small company, we think that we can challenge the big guns with our new approach that pulls from all their results and pushes them on to a single results page. Say someone is really thirsty for any news updates on a given person or company, using Newsflashr, they’ll never miss a beat,"
Apart from the site’s functionality its UI grabs my attention. With the hot topics enlisted at the bottom of the page there is an image of just-launched missiles with a weird man saying ‘why so serious’. The image truly depicts their central idea I-e missiles shows their intention of highly updated news speed while the caption depicts that they have enough potential to beat mighty guns with their new strategy.
Overall, Newsflashr in its beta phase seems promising. Give it at try, it really works.
