Enjoy iPhone-ic version of Google Docs with MiGhtyDocs

MiGhtyDocs, a free iPhone app from Apple store, allows users to access Google Docs making them more flexible and feasible. You can now enjoy all your Google documents and spreadsheets right on your iPhone without getting hooked with the connectivity problem.

The app works by pulling documents from cache, therefore you have to open your docs at least once to make them cached. Any changes that you might have updated in your last access will be downloaded automatically as soon as it will synchronized itself with the Google servers.

The app will serve as a deftly tool for all iPhone users, though it can make Google docs more vulnerable to attackers. Users have to clean their cache constantly after viewing their docs if they really want to maintain their privacy. Moreover, it remembers your Account’s info and thus if your iPhone get lost or stolen, it can reveal a wholesome amount of docs to an unknown intruder.

Apart from above mentioned security issues, the app also lacks some basic functionality. For instance, MiGhtyDocs lacks support for ‘presentations’, the newly added service in Google docs that has gathered attention of hundreds of peoples. Users cannot create or rename files and even cant send something through an e-mail. Though this ‘lacking’ could be considered as a positive factor with respect to the security issue as no one can alter or mess with your file lists and emails and will not render any harmful effects on your existing work(if for instance, you lost your iPhone).

Overall, its an interesting piece of  app that will help you to view your Google-ish docs wherever you are. Connectivity outages and mobility really makes work hectic but the new entry in the Apple stores seems promising. Though it can not be rated as an above average app but it is definitely going to cater needs of an average businessman and is better than Google Docs mobile version.
