Element Bars, an Illinois-based startup, aims to provide general public with the chance to build their own supplement bars. Yes the magical supplement bars, able to give you from a stronger immune system to enhanced eyesight, though the only difference here is you can ‘customize’ and make your own energy bars. You’re given the options of first, selecting a base texture; then add toppings; and finally your choice of ‘Boosts’ such as protein, fiber or antioxidants. The service is free, and there’s an added feature where if your combinations turn your bar into a chalky mess, the site will warn you about it, and recommend against it.

The service claims that the ingredients are natural and without any artificial sweeteners, etc. The CEO Jonathan Miller adds that the point of you designing your own bar is to provide a better result for your taste buds, than the ones available on shelves. Though he admits one would not be able to ‘pack in’ as many grams of protein as found in the usual energy bars. This sounds like an interesting startup, I’ll be sure to try it myself
