Holidays have a way of bringing a change to the market trends, especially in the sales department, as shoppers crowd malls to buy gifts for themselves and their loved ones. Though with changing trends the books section has seen a drop with readers switching to online resources to enjoy their hobby while working on their computers. This has been on the rise since a few years now and with Amazon Kindle and different iPhone apps bringing better services – it’s rising further.
Amazon’s Kindle has already sold out its e-books stock for the holiday season and says that the current Kindle is on backorder for at least another 11 to 13 weeks; a notice on the sites says:
"Due to heavy customer demand, Kindle is sold out."
This brings me to the iPhone, which can be looked to in these times of distress. With the e-books apps on iPhone it can well become a miniature e-book reader, and app sales have proved that it is comparable to the sales of Kindle and Sony’s Reader.
