I have had hosted this blog on Dreamhost, but a little while after i posted YCombinator a force to reckon with, a model to replicate, the site went down. Its been almost a day banging my head with their support team but to no use.
First they told me it was a bad neighbor and they managed to curtail it, the site eventually came online but not for long. This time i was informed that their is something in my installation that is taking too much memory and hence their automatic script is just killing it. That was awful i was lectured that it might be something related to hotlinking of images, with such a young site i was sure this will not be the case. Then i was told it might be a bad plugin, I disabled all my wordpress plugins that worked great till this day. After all this and 10 hours of downtime, I am still fucking down.
Dreamhost has really turned out to be a nightmare host. So i thought of somewhat taking out my anger by writing a review about them. If you have a site hosted at Dreamhost beware of when they could become a nightmare for you as well. Be intelligent and act before the lightening actually strikes you.
I love dreamhost, had no problems with them and they have helped me out loads in the past, way better support than my old 1 and 1 account.
Hope you have better luck with hosting in the future
